Globally Minded Works NEWS Flash from our Executive Director:

Dear Friends of Guatemala,

Due to the global economic crisis and the drought in Guatemala, President Alvaro Colom declared Guatemala is in a "
state of calamity". The UN Food and Agriculture Organization believes that half of all Guatemalan children under five years old are suffering from malnutrition - and the figure increases to 61% among the Mayan population.

Read our blog entry about the drought and its impact in Guatemala
here.

Will you partner with us to give food, including rice and beans, for school children and Mayan families around Lake Atitlan?
We are also seeking financial support for schools around the Lake for the 2010 school year, which begins in January.

Please consider giving a tax deductible
donation so we can help to feed the hungry, support the widows and help children get educated. When you give to Globally Minded Works, you help widows and children in need.

We currently give 95% of our donations to support our projects in Guatemala. When you give to us, you really do make a difference.

With much thanks for your partnership,

Kat Vaughan
